Warmth & Cheer
At the heart of The Light Community is our desire to serve and positively impact multiple communities, generations, and lives for Christ. Warmth and Cheer began in 2019 as an event to serve the homeless of Tent City in Chicago, IL. It has since grown into quarterly outreach initiatives aimed at reaching underserved people groups within the diverse communities where we live, work, and play.
2024 Warmth & Cheer
It’s that time of the year to send some holiday warmth and cheer! Please support Please Give a Little Joy to Our Local Children Supported by the Angel Tree Prison Fellowship! Monetary Donations are welcomed Through December 7th. All proceeds will be used to purchase Christmas presents for families impacted by incarceration. TLC will match all donations up to $2000. you in advance for your kindness! May God bless you and your family.
Spreading Hope & Love to Military Veterans & Families
We’re giving back to our at-risk veterans and their families. This program is designed to meet the clothing, household and basic needs of the veterans and their families.
Hugs-Buddy Bears
We’re encouraging the amazing residents of the Westchester Health and Rehab Center in Westchester, IL by showering each of them with a TLC Teddy Bear, Plant, & Inspirational Card.
Drive-Thru Baby Shower
In partnership with Aid for Women, our goal was to bless six expecting mothers in order to help them choose life.
Summer Activity Baskets
Our goal was to support three local elementary schools by donating summer fun activity baskets.
Senior Care
Our goal was to spread warmth and cheer to our precious seniors during the onset of the pandemic and social distancing.
